Hi Everyone!
I had the best time this past year working with my friends over at Sherwin-Williams to bring you fun and inspiring projects through the power of paint, and today I’m excited to share a brand new product they are launching that I really think you will love…I certainly do!
2020 proved many things when it comes to our homes and personal spaces, and at the forefront is that they needed to work harder for us than ever before. We needed them to be our office, classroom, gym, etc. But more importantly we looked to them to be our sanctuaries: places for us to retreat to from the chaos of the world outside. Our relationship with our spaces changed in vast ways and I’ve loved seeing how we have called upon our homes to do and be more for us. Sherwin-Williams new Living Well™ collection of palettes and innovative paint products help you and your home do more. The Living Well™ collection is an inspired mix of colors and paints carefully chosen not only to invite a sense of comfort, style, and well-being into your home, but also works to keep your home healthy and safe. Introducing the all new Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint® Interior with Sanitizing Technology and SuperPaint® Interior with Air Purifying Technology.
SuperPaint with Sanitizing Technology effectively sanitizes walls 24/7 and helps prevent the spread of certain bacteria on painted surfaces*. SuperPaint with Air Purifying Technology helps reduce common household odors and contributes to better indoor air quality**. I mean, how amazing is that! I was so thrilled to get to try out this new product and I figured there’s no better place to do so than in a bathroom, so I headed back over to my sister’s house to finish up her kids’ bathroom with some color. I worked on giving this space a bit of a facelift over the summer but we left the walls white until we could decide on a color to paint them.
Bathrooms are so utilitarian and this one is certainly hardworking with three young boys using it daily, but I still wanted it to be a joyful space. I always design spaces to evoke a feeling and this space feels youthful, fresh and like a breath of fresh air. My sister has always been afraid to put color on her walls and this is the first house she’s ever had color on her walls. I’m making it my mission to fill it with as many feel good hues as possible. This bathroom is no exception.
For this project I worked with SuperPaint with Air Purifying Technology.
Both paint products are available in a wide variety of colors, including 540 inspired hues from the Living Well collection curated into 11 palettes: Balance, Breathe, Center, Create, Focus, Inspire, Recharge, Reflect, Renew, Unplug and Unwind. Because the color would be going in a young kids’ space I didn’t want anything to feel too heavy, serious or formal. I was drawn to colors in the Create palette with its playful and energetic pastels. The colors are meant to inspire imagination and creativity, which couldn’t be more perfect for a seven year old and three year old twins! They already had a really fun and colorful art canvas in the space so I looked to that for color inspiration and chose Daydream SW 6541 for the walls and Topsail SW 6217 for the ceiling.

Because the color is a bit softer I love the added detail of the black trim, vanity and accessories. It really keeps the room feeling too precious and gives it a bit of a graphic punch while still highlighting the color. I love love love this effect and I think it really makes the pastel colors feel much more substantial and polished.
These pictures are really not doing these colors any justice because it really is just such a fun space. I love that it’s a bit of an unexpected color choice, which, would it even be a Shavonda space if it weren’t?! This bathroom is no exception!
This is likely to become one of my favorite interior paint products. With soothing colors and paints with sanitizing or air purifying technology—living well is made that much easier with Sherwin-Williams.
Until next time friends…

Could you tell me what wall color could I use in a bathroom with tiles that are about 75 percent bubblegum pink and 15 percent Apple green tiles. The to half of the walls are currently painted gray. Can afford to remodel right now. Thanks for your help

Did you paint the back of the door also? Just curious we have pine trim and doors throughout the house. I love the black trim you did, but I think a pine door would look odd with black trim

I really enjoy your work! I’m really liking the Sherwin Williams brand paint. I just did my kids bathroom in Dynamic Blue and did an ocean theme with fish that I posted on my FACEBOOK page (posted on public). I’m getting the compliments. Anyway, keep up the good work! I can’t wait to see your next project!

I want to paint my bathroom but don’t know what color to use. The whole interior of house is lt. beige with deep teal rug and curtains everything else is It. beige.
My thoughts is spa green….what are your thoughts…..
Halimah Money says
Any complimentary color of beige would work soft honey, sea foam would pop or even a bold tangerine

I love the idea of air purifying paint but I can’t find anything about how it actually works. Can you explain this?

This is so good to know – I paint all the time! My husband jokes that our walls are thicker because of all the paint I put on them. I love the transformative power of paint, so knowing about this product is awesome.
Of course, the bathroom looks gorgeous regardless. I love your use of color and am glad you’re convincing your sister. There are just too many rooms (and designers) out there that all look the same and (design the same). I’m all for color – my rooms are full of it, too.
